Engis is an independent Australian software company based in Melbourne. It builds one thing: the operating system for the work between a planning permit and a Statement of Compliance — for the engineering consultancies, land developers, councils and utility authorities who share that work.
Why it exists
Engis started in Melbourne in 2026, out of a delivery engineer's frustration with how subdivisions are actually run: permit conditions in a PDF, referral authorities in an inbox, claims in an accounts package, fees in a spreadsheet — and no single record any of the parties could look at together.
Feasibility tools stop at the purchase decision. Construction platforms are built for the head contractor. Practice management systems know a consultancy's hours but nothing about a Section 173 agreement or a Melbourne Water referral. Development delivery — the years in between — has had no system of its own. Engis is that system.
It is written in Melbourne, hosted in Australia, and shaped by live Victorian growth-area delivery: Cardinia, Melton, Wyndham, Casey, Yarra Ranges and the referral authorities that sit across the counter from them.
